Description

Emma Norton provides housing and supportive services to more than 300 individuals and families who have experienced homelessness with the additional challenge of mental illness, chemical dependency, or physical disability. We operate 2 site-based facilities in Saint Paul (dorm-style housing for 50 women and individuals) and Maplewood (13 townhomes for single-parent families with 3 or more children). Emma Norton also partners with small landlords throughout Ramsey County to provide low-barrier, affordable housing throughout the community.

There is growing evidence that wearing masks, even homemade cloth masks, can seriously reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. In light of the shortage of medical masks, we are asking for volunteers to help by making DIY cloth masks for all of our staff and residents.

The Minnesota Department of Health provided this pattern for DIY masks: https://www.mdh.org/sites/www/Uploads/files/Downloads/ClothMaskPattern1.pdf

For more information on alternative masks, you can read the following release from the MDH: https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/hcp/masksalt.pdf

Please coordinate all donations with Victoria at vvirasy@emmanorton.org. Per MDH guidelines only essential personnel may enter Emma Norton facilities at this time.
