What: On Monday, November 18, Metro Meals on Wheels will host our Annual Blizzard Box Blitz! Come help us pack and distribute shelf stable meals and emergency supplies to homebound individuals in the Twin Cities Metropolitan area. Blizzard Boxes are used in the event clients’ regular hot meal delivery is disrupted by inclement weather.
Where: The Food Group - 8501 54th Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55428
Volunteer duties:
- Volunteers will work on an assembly line for three hours with about 30 other volunteers and MOW staff to package food into approximately 2,500 Blizzard Boxes
- Volunteers can sign up individually or with a group (i.e. co-workers, family, etc)
- There will be breaks, lunch, beverages, and raffle prizes provided during the event
- Physical Requirements: volunteers must be able to lift 25 lbs and stand for 3 hours
When: Monday, November 11th 10:00am-2pm. Lunch will be provided!
