Volunteers are needed for something special! Help put on a world record attempt for Largest Toy Battle raising funds and awareness for bullying prevention.
Project My Neighborhood is a Minnesota based non-profit that also battles bullying but we do so in a unique way. We create community events all over the Midwest from Chicago to Denver that are purposed to raise funds and awareness for bullying prevention. Our events include inflatable paintball bunkers we use in an enclosed, safe, & family-friendly environment like a soccer field away from any natural objects that could harm our participants. We do a variety of games from tag to our most popular game we call Blaster Battles. Blaster Battles uses toy blasters that shoot foam projectiles in a series of competitions designed to reinforce our core values of inclusion, outreach, team building and health & wellness. During our events we also discuss 5 topics of bullying and relate them to the games we play which include, 1) Protect yourself, 2) You are not alone, 3)Overcoming Adversity, 4) Choices we make, & 5) Slippery slope teasing vs. bullying.
Volunteer Opportunities include:
Set up: Inflating and placing bunkers on the field, setting up registration areas, Registration assistance
During Event: Registration, monitoring for world record compliance
Breakdown: Deflating bunkers, collecting and picking up ammo, cleaning up the site
