Who We Are
Project My Neighborhood’s mission is to create a do good atmosphere that can be entertaining and educational. Our goal is to create a memorable experience that everyone can enjoy and learn from. As someone who was bullied early in my life how I handled it reflects who I am today. I was fortunate to have strong mentors and a great father as a role model. During his battle with cancer I decided to make a difference. Early on in our events myself and my wife became role models to the participants and realized we have the ability to make this in to something big by incorporating a powerful message we both believe in. I believe if we can prevent bullying we can fix a lot of other issues that need fixing in the world. At the end of the day it is all about creating the future leaders of the neighborhood who will make a difference.
What We Do
Project My Neighborhood is a Minnesota based non-profit that also battles bullying but we do so in a unique way. We create community events all over the Midwest from Chicago to Denver that are purposed to raise funds and awareness for bullying prevention. Our events include inflatable paintball bunkers we use in an enclosed, safe, & family-friendly environment like a soccer field away from any natural objects that could harm our participants. We do a variety of games from tag to our most popular game we call Blaster Battles. Blaster Battles uses toy blasters that shoot foam projectiles in a series of competitions designed to reinforce our core values of inclusion, outreach, team building and health & wellness. All of these values are picked up from my experience in organized athletics from elementary school to college. During our events we also discuss 5 topics of bullying and relate them to the games we play which include, 1) Protect yourself, 2) You are not alone, 3)Overcoming Adversity, 4) Choices we make, & 5) Slippery slope teasing vs. bullying.
