
General Description
Help county staff remove buckthorn from our parks on your own schedule. All tools and supplies will be provided. The removal season is usually from September - November (or until the first large snow storm hits). Go out and pull Buckthorn to your heart's content!

Duties & Responsibilities
- Cut and treat buckthorn (proper training provided by county staff)
- Spread woodland seed (if applicable)
- Pick and choose the dates/times that work best for your schedule. We are here to support you in your volunteer efforts when you need them.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old or older to volunteer without adult supervision
- Ability to safely navigate and walk 1-2 miles on unstable/uneven terrain
Minimum Time Commitment
That is up to you! Choose the time and schedule that works best for you. Volunteers normally spend 10-20 hours per season.
Activity Level
Active - Involves physical exertion for an extended period of time; project may involve rough, uneven or steep terrain. Activities will require longer periods of standing and walking with limited access to sitting. Activities will mostly occur in an outdoor setting with uncontrollable elements present.
