Help make a meaningful difference by purchasing, preparing, and delivering a hot meal to residents at The Valiance shelter in South Minneapolis. This volunteer‑led, in‑kind project gives you total flexibility to make a real difference. Meals donated by community groups provide nourishment, comfort, and a sense of care for individuals experiencing housing instability.
Meal Guidelines:
- Provide enough food to serve at least 50 people
- No pork products
- Soups, stews, and other hearty meals are preferred
- Prepare food in a clean, sanitary kitchen environment
- Deliver meals in containers that you are willing to donate
IMPORTANT: Label all dishes and ingredients whenever possible so staff and guests can identify menu items and be aware of potential allergens.
Food Safety Guidelines
- Prep meals on clean surfaces with gloves
- Label meals with all ingredients
- Keep meals hot during transportation and deliver in containers we can keep

- Chicken and rice casserole with vegetables
- Beef or turkey chili with beans and cornbread
- Pasta with meat sauce or marinara and a side salad
- Hearty chicken noodle, lentil, or vegetable soup with bread
