Description:
The Green Crew is an award-winning, youth-led conservation program based in Bloomington, MN. Our young leaders plan and lead real environmental service projects—restoring habitats, organizing community efforts, and building skills that last a lifetime. We’re seeking Adult Advisors who are willing to show up once a month to support, encourage, and help keep these youth-led projects safe, grounded, and successful.
This is not a role about running meetings or directing youth. It’s about showing up as a trusted adult presence—someone who believes in young people, respects their leadership, and is willing to lend experience when needed.
Your Role:
-
Attend one Green Crew project or meeting per month
-
Provide adult supervision and support during conservation service activities
-
Offer guidance, encouragement, and problem-solving when youth ask for it
-
Help ensure a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all participants
-
Serve as a positive role model for leadership, teamwork, and stewardship
Why This Role Matters:
-
Youth lead best when they know trusted adults have their back
-
Your presence helps create a safe structure where young people can take real responsibility
-
You’ll witness youth leadership in action—often in inspiring and unexpected ways
-
This is a meaningful way to support conservation without a heavy time commitment
You’ll Be a Great Fit If…
-
You enjoy working with young people and believe in youth leadership
-
You’re comfortable supporting rather than directing
-
You care about conservation, community, or mentoring the next generation
-
You can commit to showing up consistently once a month
Time Commitment:
Approximately 2–4 hours per month. Scheduling is flexible and planned in advance.
Location:
Bloomington, MN and surrounding communities. Most activities take place outdoors at conservation sites
