Green Crew

The Green Crew is not your average volunteer program—it’s a youth-led, award-winning movement where young people roll up their sleeves and actually lead the work of protecting and restoring the environment. Rooted in the Minnesota Valley Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, the Green Crew puts young leaders at the center of every project. They dream it up, plan it, and guide the team. Adults (including parents!) provide support, but the energy, vision, and leadership come from the youth themselves.

• Build and maintain trails
• Plant trees and native plants
• Restore habitats and wetlands
• Remove invasive species
• Rewild landscapes with mushrooms and pollinators
• Take on bold conservation projects that get noticed nationally

Why join? Because this is where conservation gets real. It’s hands-on, outdoors, and filled with teamwork, leadership, and adventure. Teens don’t just help out—they lead.
