About the event
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity, with a time commitment of 5-10 hours per month. We’re looking for someone who can help us share our story and elevate our mission through earned media. If you love writing, connecting with people, and making an impact behind the scenes, this role is for you!
You’ll help us reach new audiences by coordinating media outreach, pitching stories, and supporting communications efforts. Your work will help shine a light on the voices and experiences of our community.
What will volunteers do?
- Draft and send press releases and media advisories
- Pitch stories to local and regional media outlets
- Build and maintain a media contact list
- Track and share media coverage
- Collaborate with staff to identify newsworthy stories
- Support social media amplification of earned media
What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
Just your creativity, communication skills, and passion for storytelling! This role is remote-friendly, so no special attire is required.
What should volunteers know about the location?
This opportunity is actually hybrid/virtual, so most of the time there will be no need to come into the office. If there is a need to come into the office, there is street parking all around. Some of the roads nearby are currently under construction, so you might have to park a couple of blocks away.
