Supporting the 2026 Izaak Walton League of America National Conference in Bloomington, Minnesota

About the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA)
The Izaak Walton League of America is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected conservation organizations. For more than a century, the League’s 40,000 members have worked to conserve, restore, and promote the sustainable use and enjoyment of our nation’s natural resources.

About the 2026 IWLA National Conference
In July 2026, the Minnesota Division of the IWLA will proudly host the National Convention in Bloomington, Minnesota. More than 300 representatives from across the country will gather to celebrate conservation achievements, exchange ideas, and shape the future of environmental stewardship in America.

About the Host Committee
The Minnesota Division’s Host Committee leads the planning and coordination for this national event, supported by a network of volunteer teams focusing on marketing, logistics, hospitality, sustainability, and youth engagement. Each volunteer plays a vital role in creating a memorable, mission-driven experience for attendees.

Your Role: Social Media Specialist
As a Social Media Specialist, you’ll help build excitement for the 2026 National Conference by developing and sharing inspiring content that connects people to our mission and the upcoming event. You’ll work closely with other volunteers to create posts, highlight partner projects, feature conservation success stories, and share opportunities to get involved.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating engaging, accurate, and mission-aligned social media content.

  • Scheduling and publishing posts across Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms.

  • Showcasing the work of Minnesota chapters and partner organizations.

  • Supporting live social coverage during key moments of the July 2026 conference.

  • Collaborating with the Marketing & Outreach Team to ensure consistent messaging and branding.

Time Commitment:

  • Low commitment in 2025, averaging 3–5 hours per month remotely.

  • Increased activity from March to July 2026 as the conference approaches.

  • Onsite participation during the third week of July 2026 in Bloomington, Minnesota, is encouraged but not required.

Ideal for:
Volunteers who are passionate about conservation, digital storytelling, and community engagement. Experience in social media or marketing is helpful but not necessary — enthusiasm and commitment to the IWLA mission matter most.

Impact:
Your voice will help amplify the League’s message of conservation and stewardship, engage members nationwide, and inspire new supporters to join the effort to protect the lands and waters that sustain us all.
