We need support cleaning out our closed shelter in downtown Minneapolis. We had to make the hard decision to close and put the building on the market. Now we need to dispose of what was left in the building. Once this is done, we can put the building on the market and get an important influx of dollars to support our other programming, serving almost 7,000 people each year. This will be an all-day cleanout. We'll provide light pastries and coffee in the morning, and pizza for lunch.
What will volunteers do? Clean out a 4 story building. We will separate items into piles to keep for other Agate programs, donate, or trash. This is going to be a manually-intensive day. And a dirty day.
What will volunteers need to bring or wear? Wear clothes that are ok to get dirty.
You will need to pay for street or lot parking in the neighborhood. Agate can provide reimbursement for parking expenses, please talk to your supervisor to arrange.
