The Rondo Center of Diverse Expressions (RCODE) is holding the 5th
Annual Juneteenth Observance on Thursday, June 19th, 2025, at the Rondo Commemorative Plaza, 820 Rondo Avenue in St. Paul, MN from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Programmed speeches, awards, and presentations will take place from 2:00 - 3:30 pm.
Juneteenth is an annual event, recognizing the day in 1865 that African Americans in Galveston, TX were informed of their freedom via General Order #3, years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is a celebration of human respect and dignity owed to African American people and their descendants, combined with hope for better days ahead.
We are in need of volunteers for two roles:
1. A group of volunteers to help set up and/or tear down tents, tables, chairs, etc. This position is primarily physical labor and essential for the event.
2. A group of volunteers to help throughout the day with staffing some of the tabling and connecting with the community during the event.
Shifts are available and volunteers do not have to stay the full day to participate.
