Who We Are

Hope for the Journey Home is a ministry for families who are experiencing homelessness for the first time. HJH is  a ministry of Guardian Angels Catholic Church along with St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi and more than 30 churches in Washington and suburban Ramsey counties

What We Do

We are a shelter for families experiencing homelessness. We provide private rooms for up to seven families at a time, along with three meals every day. We need volunteers for our dinner shift, helping to serve the dinner, which is every night of the week except Thursday from 5PM-8PM. We also have a nightly overnight shift from 8:15PM to 9:15AM in which volunteers let in families that arrive after 9PM, put out breakfast in the morning, and lock the doors upon leaving at 9AM. Hope for the Journey Home is on the campus of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Oakdale, and is a ministry of 28 other local faith communities as well.
