**Shift Time:** Overnight (4-hour shifts available)
**Summary:**
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our team at STAR House. The ideal candidates will have the ability to create a warm and responsive environment for children, handle big emotions calmly and effectively, manage sensitive information discreetly, and be familiar with families in crisis and available resources.
**Responsibilities:**
- Comfort children during the night to ensure they feel safe and secure.
- Assist with the bedtime routine, including reading stories and helping with health and hygiene.
- Help staff with light chores to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Relieve staff for breaks as needed.
- Assist with food prep for the following day's meals.
- Ensure children get a good night's sleep and help prepare STAR House for the following day's activities.
**Requirements:**
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and move quickly and safely from a sitting position to a standing position.
- Must pass a background check and fingerprinting.
