Do you love animals? Would you love to help homeless animals in our shelter by assisting our staff in making it an animal-friendly environment?
Shelter Assistant Volunteers assist with tasks like washing dishes, doing laundry, preparing Kongs (treat toys) for dogs and more. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know Animal Humane Society and the work we do in animal welfare. For most volunteers this is an entry-level position before being promoted to animal care with dogs, cats, and/or critters (rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds). After 10 hours in this role as a Shelter Assistant, you can be promoted to Animal Care.
