Special Olympics Minnesota is excited to host our first ever Minneapolis Premier event on March 14 and we are looking for volunteers to help make the day happen!
Over 9 Minneapolis Unified Schools will be joining to participate in Unified games as well as fun activities! We hope to see you there!
No experience? No problem! A detailed training is given at the beginning of each shift. We are hoping for volunteers to act as general event support welcoming students, running activities and then helping with clean up (some lifting and light movement may be included, however not required).

Volunteer Expectations….
- Volunteers must be 15 years or older
- 11-14 year old volunteers are welcome when volunteering with chaperone/parent/guardian 18+.
- Interested volunteers who are under 11 are welcomed to cheer on athletes as fans in the stands with chaperone/parent/guardian 18+.
- You may sign up for one or more shifts.
- There is no smoking, alcohol consumption, or drug use by volunteers.
- Abusive behavior toward students, other volunteers or staff will not be tolerated.
- Please don't exchange personal information with any student.
- Cancellations
- If event is canceled you will be notified by email & text message.
- Cancellation calls are made only on the morning of the event.
- Please notify SOMN as soon as possible if you are not able to make your volunteer shift.
- Wear
- Comfortable clothing & shoes.
- Volunteer t-shirt (given when you check in),
- Parking/Transportation
- Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts to check in.
- Parking will be available in Ramp A-volunteers will be reimbursed.
- Pack
- Any meals or snacks needed-lunch will not be provided. (Concessions will be available to purchase on site. Please contact us if this presents any hardship or prevents your ability to volunteer).
