Special Olympics Minnesota's Unified Bocce Tournament is being held on October 13 and we are hoping for volunteers to help make the day happen! We hope to see you there!
No bocce experience? No problem! A detailed training is given at the beginning of each shift. You're welcome to sign up for any of the following roles:
- Set Up:
- Help set up all equipment, tables, etc.
- Must be able to lift 15+ pounds
- Team Registration
- Check in teams for their competitions.
- Court Volunteers
- Score keep & help with game questions.
- Lunch Assistants
- Set up & serve lunch to participants.
- Tear Down
- Help take down all equipment, tables, etc.
- Must be able to lift 15+ pounds
Volunteer Expectations….
- Volunteers must be 15 years or older
- 11-14 year old volunteers are welcome when volunteering with chaperone/parent/guardian 18+.
- Interested volunteers who are under 11 are welcomed to cheer on athletes as fans in the stands with chaperone/parent/guardian 18+.
- You may sign up for one or more shifts.
- There is no smoking, alcohol consumption, or drug use by volunteers.
- Abusive behavior toward athletes, other volunteers or staff will not be tolerated.
- Please don't exchange personal information with any athlete.
- Cancellations
- If event is canceled you will be notified by email & text message.
- Cancellation calls are made only on the morning of the event.
- Wear
- Comfortable clothing & shoes.
- Volunteer t-shirt (given when you check in),
- Parking/Transportation
- Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts to check in.
- Street parking will be available on campus.
- Pack
- Lunch will be provided, we are not able to accommodate dietary restrictions.
- A water bottle.
