Description

The Guthrie is a Minnesota institution dedicated to engaging exceptional theater artists in classic and contemporary plays. The Guthrie creates transformative theater experiences that ignite the imagination, stir the heart, open the mind, and build community through the illumination of our common humanity.

Volunteers are a large part of making these transformative performances happen! When you volunteer to usher at productions at the Guthrie, you are making a positive impact in the arts community in Minnesota. As a volunteer usher, you will:

  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons as they arrive at the theater
  • Help read tickets and guide patrons to their seats
  • Hand out programs and answer questions about the Guthrie
  • Work closely with the Audience Services team and get to know the performing arts community

Volunteer ushers sign up for 1.5 hour shifts. Some shifts will require walking up and down a long steep set of stairs. Some shifts can be done with limited mobility. All shifts are labeled with their mobility requirements so everyone can find an opportunity that fits their needs.

To become a Guthrie Volunteer Usher, please follow this link to the volunteer portal and sign up: Guthrie Theater (volunteerhub.com)

The Volunteer Development Manager will connect with you to set up orientation and onboarding.

We look forward to seeing you at the G!
