At CreativeCon, 5th-8th graders learn that the ability to think creatively and problem solve is essential for all ages and in all areas of life. Students attend interactive sessions highlighting the ways creativity and problem solving are applied in STEM, the arts, and across all careers.
General Event Volunteers help with morning check-in, guide students in the hallway, collate/distribute supplies, collect evaluations, check rooms for lost & found, help us provide a safe environment, and ensure all students and teachers have a great day!
Lunch Team Volunteers work together to check-in bag lunches, move them (using carts) to the lunch location, distribute lunches to teachers, monitor the space, and provide light clean-up.
As a Classroom Assistant Volunteer you will assist a STEM or arts professional while they lead hands-on activities. You will help in the same session all day (each session is offered 3 times). Help the presenter with set-up, clean-up, assist with demonstrations, and help keep students engaged and on-task. You are guaranteed to learn something new!
Same-day training provided. No experience required, but a passion for STEM and the arts is recommended.
As the school year begins, we are closely monitoring the pandemic and learning how school field trips and extra curriculars are safely taking place. SBC will follow MDH and CDC recommendations that promote health and safety and mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission. As events get closer, we will update all participants on specific safety protocols.
