Description

Gibbs Farm is looking for a responsible animal care volunteer for the Sunday Morning shift! Morning animal care usually takes about 1 hour and needs to be started before 9 am. This opportunity starts at the end of June and runs through the end of November.

Gibbs Farm is a historic farm located in Falcon Heights Minnesota. There are chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, sheep and goats on site. This is a great volunteer opportunity for an early rising urban animal lover!

Responsibilities

Unlock/Lock barn.

Feed and refill water for all animals.

Let chickens, ducks and geese out of their houses/coops and in to their outdoor enclosures.

Clean out soiled straw from geese and duck houses and replace with fresh straw.

Communicate schedule with Gibbs Farm Staff.

Volunteers should have some experience with animals and able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs. Volunteers should be available for most Sunday Morning shifts and able to communicate their schedule with Gibbs Farm staff via email, phone call or text. After training volunteers will be working mostly independently.

If you are interested in this opportunity email Site Manager Sammy Nelson (Sammy@rchs.com). Please include a sentence or two about your experience with animals,  any scheduling conflicts and one reference (personal or employment) with contact information.

Sammy will set up an informational meeting to make sure this project is a good fit!
