Volunteers at Mill Ruins Park will work with National Park Service, Minnesota Historical Society, and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board staff to give students a “hands on” opportunity to learn about wheat (grain) and Minneapolis milling history.
Volunteers will assist students (grades 4-6) in hand milling small quantities of wheat, using various levels of technology. Student do the milling work. Volunteers may also assist students in recording activities in their journals. Approximately 100-120 students per day will participate in this activity.
- Bring a lunch.
- Dress to be outdoors.
- Park in the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board parking on the west side of the stone arch bridge.

Upcoming shifts are May 23, 24, 28, 29, 30, 31, 2019. Generally shifts start between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and wrap-up at between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. depending on the day.
