Purpose of Position:
- The Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) and CLUES are launching a monthly free walk-in legal clinic out of CLUES’ St. Paul office the first Wednesday of the month from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. The Clinic will be a great tool for the community to be informed, prepared and empowered.
Position Type: Unpaid volunteer service
Schedule:
- VLN Clinics will be open the first Wednesday of every month, from 2-4:30pm
- Minimum time commitment: 1 session of 3 hours
Location(s): CLUES St. Paul: 797 East 7th Street, St. Paul, MN 55106
Responsibilities:
- Volunteer interpreters will support with client registration, intake, and interpret when necessary.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies and other applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.
CLUES and VLN reserve the right to terminate an internship or volunteer commitment if behavior is not in compliance with either CLUES or VLN policies.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, and cultural competency required.
- Be open and respectful to the diverse life experiences, values and backgrounds of CLUES clients.
Requirements & Training:
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- VLN provides training for interpreter/intake volunteers.
As a condition of continued service, volunteer may be required to submit to periodic re-verification of these background checks.
