Internship Description
This internship is responsible for supporting the Men & Boys Engagement coordinator. This hands-on position will expose the intern/volunteer to Casa de Esperanza’s community engagement outreach. The individual will first learn about the program in place and its utilization to change cultural perceptions for the prevention of domestic violence among the Latin@ Community. Focus is on learning how to facilitate programs, with the eventual responsibility of facilitating a session.
Responsibilities
- Learning about Casa de Esperanza, domestic violence, and how it impacts the Latin@ Community
- Learning about the Té Invitó Campaign
- Practicing how to facilitate groups of either men (18+) or boys (11-17)
- Intern/volunteer will be selected to assist with either the men or youth groups
- Assist with community outreach and engagement
Qualifications
- Experience/willingness to learn how to facilitate groups
- Ability to learn and then be able to train others
- Working with adults or children
- Bilingual, Spanish & English
- Multicultural or have experience working with Latin@s community
Preferences
- Due to sensitive topics of Masculinity and domestic violence, would have a preference for male or male-identified individuals
