Volunteer Description
This position is responsible for supporting the Facilities Coordinator. This hands-on position will allow the volunteer to support Casa de Esperanza’s cause of providing a refuge for Latinas in our community. The volunteer will be in charge of maintain a clean and welcoming environment at El Refugio, our women’s shelter. Willingness to accept any odd job is necessary attitude for this position.
Responsibilities
- Learning about Casa de Esperanza, domestic violence, and how it impacts the Latino Community
- Learning about our intervention practices in the community
- Cleaning the communal areas at El Refugio
- Sorting donations, organizing files, helping to maintain a clean workspace
- Maintaining the grounds of El Refugio
- Completing odd jobs around El Refugio
Qualifications
- Able to follow directions
- Self-motivated to find tasks to do
- Desire to help do even the smallest tasks
- Ability to help maintain a clean environment
Preferred
- Bilingual, Spanish & English
- Multicultural or have experience working with Latinos
