Position Summary
Do you have a passion for health equity and a desire to spread knowledge to your fellow classmates and community? People’s Center is looking for individuals with a strong health background and excellent people skills to develop, deliver, and promote linguistically appropriate health education and clinic promotion materials to Minneapolis community members. Volunteers will work with People’s Center staff to create materials and conduct outreach outside our clinic, on college campuses, and/or at community events. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly in a health care setting, collaborate with health care professionals, and gain experience bringing valuable health and knowledge information to underserved populations.
We offer flexible hours around your schedule, and we allow for our volunteers to work from home when appropriate. People’s Center will provide all necessary training – no prior outreach experience is necessary.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong passion for reducing health disparities
- Background in health education/ health care field
- Excellent communications skills
- Desire to work in a diverse setting
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team
- Ability to meet deadlines
Time Commitment:
- 5-10 hours per week
