- Provide socialization and emotional support to elderly individuals who are socially isolated, and/or have other special needs.
- Establish a consistent and supportive relationship with client by visiting client in his/her home, taking client out for social, recreational, or personal needs (shopping, appointments, etc.), and providing friendly companionship. Report to Senior Services Case Manager to update progress of relationship.
- Visit weekly or bi-weekly for 2-3 hours. Six-month commitment required.
- Visits take place in the client's home. Locations vary and include Minneapolis and suburbs.
- Experience working with older adults helpful but not required. Maturity and empathy required. Ability to work on a one-to-one basis with an older person.
