The Arc's Accounting & Finance intern is a stipend eligible position for the 2018-2019 school year.  The Arc’s accounting and finance intern is a self-motivated, highly accurate individual who can assist the organization’s financial management and insure its financial integrity. The accounting and finance intern is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager on a variety of projects and tasks.  Duties include:

  • Work in Microsoft Dynamics accounting software
  • Complete month-end journal entries, research variances and compile necessary reports
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with accounts payable preparation, processing and record-keeping
  • Prepare ROI study or cost-benefit analysis of thrift ideas to maximize productivity and efficiency and spending controls
  • Analyze company contracts and make recommendations for improved tracking
  • Perform a cost analysis on business practices; make recommendations to minimize expenses
  • Implement systems to minimize expense
  • Assist with budgeting activities
  • Update and analyze asset inventory management; make recommendations to improve systems
  • Review and update Finance forms and policies; make recommendations for improvements
  • Filing, organizing, auditing and other accounting department tasks as necessary

This is a non-profit accounting focused position with a few opportunities in the finance area for the 2018 – 2019 academic year.  Must be available to intern 10-12 hours per week. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.  An exit interview will also be conducted to gauge intern experience and to make recommendations for improvement.
