2018 National Summit on Volunteer Engagement Leadership
Position: Conference Tech Support Volunteer
Purpose of Position: Help ensure smooth technology interactions for our presenters and participants on-site at MAVA’s 2018 conference.
Accountable To: Summit Chairperson and Summit Volunteer Coordinator
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technology support for our presenters - ensuring proper laptop/projector connections, loading ppts/presentations, troubleshooting AV, power-supply, and/or network connections.
- Help participants download our conference app, and provide basic support to ensure they can properly access, use, and engage with via Convene with presenters and fellow participants.
Skills Needed:
- General knowledge of computer/AV/smartphone software
- Familiarity with Convene by Thomson Reuters a plus, but prior use of any conference/event applications useful
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve
- Good communication/customer service skills; ability to explain tech to non-techies a plus!
Time commitment: Minimum 4 hour shift; June 6-8
