Bridging, a nonprofit organization serving the greater Twin Cities, is the largest furniture bank in North America. Through the effective reuse of donated items, Bridging improves lives by providing quality furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty. Driven by volunteers and donations of furniture and household goods from the community, Bridging has furnished over 100,000 homes since 1987.
NOW more than ever, we need your help to serve the mission as we empower people to THRIVE in their homes.
Since our reopening on May 4, 2020, Bridging has been serving clients virtually, accepting furniture and household good donations and slowly bringing volunteers back.
We are confident in our safety standards and can proudly say we are now serving nearly 90 households EACH WEEK!

Join the Bridging Volunteer Team!
We need your help with our virtual shopping appointments! Help our clients as we "shop" with them via iPad. You will go around our warehouse in teams of two+ and help our clients pick out their furniture and household goods based on their needs and our inventory. Once items are picked out, you'll pack them up and prepare them for client pick up or delivery via our Bridging Staff. Some lifting required.
We ask that you first come in for a tour of our warehouse so that you can get a scope of what we do. Tours last 20 to 30 minutes.
Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Masks are not required for vaccinated individuals inside our building.
