Purpose
Livestream Moderators create a welcoming online experience by engaging with viewers during Conversations on a Bench. They answer questions, share helpful resources, and help connect the online audience with the meaningful conversations taking place throughout the event. For many viewers, you'll be the first personal interaction they have with Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities.
Who Would Thrive in This Role?
• Friendly, knowledgeable, and focused
• Comfortable using Facebook and YouTube, including participating in live chats
• Strong written communication skills, including clear spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Familiar with Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities' programs and services (ideal for current volunteers or others who know the organization well)
• Comfortable researching information and responding thoughtfully when questions arise
Responsibilities
• Monitor and moderate comments on the YouTube and Facebook livestreams.
• Respond to common questions using provided reference materials and pre-written
responses.
• Research answers or connect with staff when additional information is needed.
• Introduce each guest in the comments by posting their name and biography at the beginning of their interview.
• Share questions from the online audience with event staff for possible discussion during the livestream.
• Help foster a welcoming, respectful, and engaging online community throughout the event.
Shift Times
- Thursday 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday 4:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Thursday 8:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
- Friday 5:00 - 8:00 a.m.
- Friday 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Friday 12:00 - 4:00 p.m.
