Description

This position supports basic needs delivery by preparing and packaging groceries for participants who are temporarily unable to access the Food Market in person due to access or safety barriers. Volunteers pack orders accurately and thoughtfully, following food safety and confidentiality guidelines that protect participant dignity, privacy, and choice. This role helps ensure equitable food access while preserving Neighborhood House’s in-person Food Market model.

Responsibilities

·       Pack grocery orders accurately for scheduled deliveries

·       Follow food safety, handling, and labeling guidelines

·       Respect participant confidentiality and privacy

·       Work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail

·       Communicate questions or issues to staff promptly

Qualifications:

·       Great for families or groups up to 8 people

·       Ability to follow instructions and work with consistency and care

·       Comfortable standing, lifting, and packing food items for extended period of time

·       Commitment to confidentiality and respectful conduct

·       Reliable and able to complete scheduled shifts

Time Commitment: 

Weekly or bi-weekly commitment.  Tuesday through Friday shifts available through May from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
