We have two new openings for Groups Assistant Volunteers!
This is a recurring weekly volunteer shift where you will be scheduled for either Wednesday or Thursday mornings 8:45am- 11:45 am. We are asking for anyone interested to be able to commit to at least the next two months until May. Let us know if you're interested in volunteering for either or both days!
You will always be scheduled to work alongside group staff. They will ask for your help with any of the following tasks:
- Welcome groups as they enter the building from their bus(es)
- Assist the group staff in getting the group settled in their room
- Show where coats and lunches can go and have children sit on the carpet for orientation.
- Help distribute orange stickers after the group staff completes orientation, trained volunteers may also lead orientations.
- Help direct traffic into the museum as the group is heading onto the floor
- Have maps handy if an adult asks for one
- Assist with groups coming back for lunch – direct them into the correct lunch space
- Assist with groups with departure – direct them into their correct gathering space and thank them for coming as they leave for their bus(es)
- Any additional duties that the Group Lead may need help with.
