Spend time connecting with your community during winter break with this fun, flexible, and family-friendly volunteer opportunity. Little Free Library will provide a tote bag containing 10-15 books for child, teen, and adult readers. Volunteers choose which Little Free Library locations to visit and distribute the books by early January.
Register on our website to get started. If it's your first time signing up with Team LFL, you will be prompted to create an account in our volunteer hub. Little Free Library staff can answer your questions by email.
Purpose: By keeping Little Free Libraries full of books, you are helping to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up one tote bag of books from the Wycliff building in St. Paul. Pickup options are Tuesday, December 11 between 11 am - 1 pm or Monday, December 15 between 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm.
- Go to Little Free Libraries near you and leave the books inside. (You’re welcome to add any additional books that you have to share!)
- Use the Little Free Library app to check-in at each location and tell us how many books you shared.
- Submit an Impact form in our volunteer hub when you're done.
Time Required: Pick up on December 11 or December 15, then you set your own schedule to distribute the books in your neighborhood before the end of winter break. We estimate that it will take between 1.5 - 2 hours to distribute all of the books provided.
Resources Available: Our Little Free Library mobile app makes it easy to find book-exchange boxes near you.
