Youth and Sports Programs
The Sanneh Foundation was founded in 2003 by former World Cup soccer player and native Minnesotan Tony Sanneh. The Sanneh Foundation began as a youth sports organization and has grown into a statewide leader addressing the social determinants of health. Our mission is to close racial and ethnic disparities in health, education, and income across Minnesota.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to listening to community voices and delivering culturally responsive programs that empower youth and strengthen families. Our youth programs help ensure that every child has access to safe spaces, caring mentors, and opportunities to grow into their full potential.

Volunteer Game Changer – Summer Sports Camps
June 16th – August 8th
No camps June 19th and July 4th
Our Summer Sports Camps provide free, high-energy programming that helps kids stay active, build confidence, and connect through teamwork. Volunteers help support daily activities like drills, games, and group movement while encouraging youth to have fun and stay engaged.
This Volunteer Game Changer role is a great fit if you want a flexible way to stay involved all summer. Instead of signing up for individual shifts, you’ll complete a short interest and availability form. We’ll match you with camp days that fit your schedule and keep you looped in with upcoming opportunities.
Help coach, cheer, and make an impact this summer!

Multi-Shift Commitment
To provide the best experience for both kids and volunteers, we require volunteers to sign up for at least 1 shift a month
Why is this important?
- For the kids: Familiar faces help build trust and create a safe, welcoming space.
- For you: More shifts mean more fun, stronger connections, and a chance to truly see the impact you’re making.
- For the team: Having committed volunteers ensures smooth operations and more focus on the kids.
Whether you are passionate about youth development, education, sports, or community building, volunteering with Sanneh is a powerful way to make a difference this summer. Be part of a team working to empower youth through belonging, mentorship, and joyful learning.
