Residents living in our subsidized independent living apartments have so many issues to think about at this stage of life, a lot of them concerning legal issues. We are looking for an expert in senior legal issues to come out and hold a legal clinic to answer questions once of month or on a quarterly basis.
Responsibilities: (Can include but are not limited to…)
- Meet with residents, families, and possibly staff privately about issues or questions that concern them.
- Provide advice or suggestions to residents based on their individual circumstances that would benefit them specifically.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Provide positive customer service
- Education and Experience as lawyer or legal professional
- Knowledge of legal issues that impact senior citizens such as long-term health care; estate planning; power of attorney; guardianship; trust or wills; taxes (real estate, gift, estate taxes); retirement benefits (social security, disability, veterans’ benefits);
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
