General Description
Dakota County will be conducting a Public Safety exercise on September 15th at 6:00 p.m. in the Eagan area. The exercise will last no later than 10:00 p.m. The goal of the exercise is to provide realistic training scenarios to Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS agencies. We are looking for volunteers to participate as role players in various emergency scenarios to give our agents practical training opportunities. We need your help to make this training as realistic as possible and hope to secure a diverse and broad range of people to help us out.
To aid in the flow of the event, we ask that you pre-register online before the event using the county’s volunteer database. Individuals will be required to sign a Participation Agreement Form prior to being allowed into the venue.
* If you are 16 and up, you are welcomed to join but must have a parent or guardian’s authorization to participate (if you register the evening of, a parent or guardian must be present to sign for you).
Location
The training will take place in the Eagan area. More detailed information will be emailed to registered participants approximately one week prior to the exercise.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide realistic scenarios to Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS agencies.
- Thoroughly listen and create the environment and situations that our event controllers ask for you to create.
- No use of force will be utilized during the exercise.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to make it to the facility 15 minutes prior to the event. You must stay for the entirety of the event.
- Must be at least 16 years old (with adult written consent) or older.
- You will not be able to use or have access to your cell phone during the event.
- Must be able to follow and listen to directions thoroughly.
- Must be able to remain calm and collected in a high stress environment.
- Reenactment experience is welcomed, but not required.
Minimum Time Commitment
4 hours - breaks will be included
Activity Level
Active - Involves physical exertion for an extended period of time; can involve rough, uneven or steep terrain. Not recommended for volunteers with physical limitations.
Required Training
No training is required beforehand. Participants will be instructed on what to do prior to and during the event. Controllers will be onsite to answer questions and direct volunteers throughout the evening.
