Alliance has hosted this event for many years. It is our largest fundraising event of the year. We usually have about 250 guests and raise $50,000-$60,000. Our sponsors and board members invite their colleagues, family and friends. There is no charge for the event. The program includes some comments from two of our tenants, myself and our board chair.
Alliance uses these valuable individual donations to keep our rents affordable to low wage working adults and families. Many of them would be turned down by other landlords due to their financial, housing or criminal history. Alliance is successful keeping them stably housed and our neighbors happy by practicing a very hands on, flexible but direct management style that redirects behavior and sometimes collects rent over time. The dollars support this work, as well.
