For 17 years , the YWCA Minneapolis Women’s Triathlon has been a highly anticipated Minnesota event, and each year we strive to make the event a better experience for our participants and spectators.
Often voted “Peoples’ Choice Race of the Year” by Minnesota Tri News because of our legendary support and inclusivity. The YWCA Triathlon the largest all-women triathlon in the continental United States, open to girls ages 11+, women and non-binary people who identify with womanhood.
Set at Lake Nokomis, , the YWCA Triathlon has 1500 racers. 90% are from MN and 58% are from the metro area. It is a true community celebration supporting our mothers, daughters, friends, colleagues and neighbors.
We anticipate 3000+ spectators. This is a true community celebration! Supporting the women we know who are chasing their personal wellness goals.
We need 400 volunteers to ensure the race is safe, family-friendly, joyful and FUN.
There are several days leading up to the race that we also need help.
August 4-7 we need assistance preparing all the materials for the racers and the registration process. We use volunteers at the Midtown YWCA on Tuesday, we need help at Midtown Global Market on Wednesday August 5th for the first Packet Pick Up day. On Thursday/Friday we also have packing up equipment slots and packing trucks at the YWCA to transfer to Lake Nokomis.
August 8th is set-up day at Lake Nokomis. We need people to help us set up the course, arrange signage and set up tents for sponsors/vendors.
August 9th is race day - it is an EARLY start but supporting the racers and then sharing in the joy at the conclusion of the race and our gratitude ceremony - we need help with it all.
