Volunteer Description for Aortic Ed Sessions
Rock from the Heart is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our Aortic Ed Sessions on February 13, 2026, at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN. This educational event runs from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and your contributions will help us raise awareness and provide critical education on aortic and heart valve disease. Below are the categories of volunteer opportunities available:
1. Registration & Check-In Volunteers
Responsibilities:
- Greet attendees and confirm their registration.
- Distribute event materials, name tags, and session schedules.
- Provide general directions and answer basic event questions.
Skills Needed:
- Friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Basic knowledge of the event schedule.
2. Event Setup and Tear Down Crew
Responsibilities:
- Assist with arranging tables, chairs, signage, and materials prior to the event.
- Help pack up materials and clean up the venue post-event.
Skills Needed:
- Physical ability to lift and move items (moderate weight).
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
3. Merchandise Sellers
Responsibilities:
- Manage the sales of Rock from the Heart merchandise, such as shirts, hats, and other items.
- Process payments and maintain a record of transactions.
- Assist customers with questions about merchandise.
Skills Needed:
- Comfortable handling cash or operating a point-of-sale system.
- Friendly and customer-service oriented.
4. Greeters
Responsibilities:
- Welcome attendees as they arrive at the venue.
- Direct guests to registration, session rooms, or other areas.
- Provide a positive and welcoming first impression.
Skills Needed:
- Warm, outgoing personality.
- Knowledge of the venue layout.
5. Ambassadors
Responsibilities:
- Engage with attendees to share information about Rock from the Heart’s mission and programs.
- Encourage attendees to get involved, donate, or participate in future events.
- Answer questions about aortic and heart valve disease or direct them to resources.
Skills Needed:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for Rock from the Heart’s mission.
6. Session Support Volunteers
Responsibilities:
- Manage the timing for each 20-minute session and notify speakers of time limits.
- Distribute and collect session evaluations.
- Ensure session rooms remain quiet and orderly during presentations.
Skills Needed:
- Punctual and attentive.
- Comfortable managing time and interacting with speakers.
7. Social Media and Photography Volunteers
Responsibilities:
- Capture event highlights through photos or videos for promotional purposes.
- Share live updates on social media platforms.
- Coordinate with the event organizer for content approval.
Skills Needed:
- Experience with photography and/or social media.
- Ability to work discreetly and respect attendee privacy.
