Hearts & Hammers is a nonprofit organization that provides free exterior home repairs and improvements for income-qualified older adults, people with disabilities, and veterans or surviving spouses throughout the Twin Cities. Our volunteer-powered programs help homeowners remain safe, independent, and living with dignity in the homes they love.
Volunteer teams complete projects that preserve homes, improve safety, and restore neighborhood pride. Typical work includes exterior painting, caulking and weatherproofing, siding and trim repair, railings and ramps, stair and walkway repairs, gutter repairs, and landscape renewal.

A Hearts & Hammers Program Day is more than a volunteer event - it's an opportunity for your team to make a visible, lasting impact while building stronger connections with one another.
Corporate teams, professional associations, faith communities, civic organizations, schools, and community groups all play a vital role in helping older adults, people with disabilities, and veterans remain safely and independently in their homes.
Most Program Days accommodate 10–40 volunteers, making them ideal for team building, employee engagement, leadership development, or giving back together.
