Who We Are

Osseo Area Schools Adult Basic Education (ABE) serves nearly 1000 students age 17 and older each year.  Our students come from over 60 countries and speak nearly 50 languages.  95% of our students self-identify as a person of color.  We are a student-centered  program, with classes in core content areas. as well as, technology and workplace skills.  We are located in the heart of Brooklyn Center, MN, at the Northwest Family Service Center, and collaborate with our social services building partners to provide support to our learners to reach their goals in class, as well as, in the community.  

What We Do

Osseo Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is part of the Osseo Area School ISD 279 district.  We offer free classes to help adults from northwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities reach their educational, employment and personal goals.  Osseo ABE provides classes such as: English as a Second Language, listening, reading, writing, math and GED preparation. Classes are offered both days and evenings to help fit into the students busy schedules. All class are taught by licensed teachers who are assisted by trained volunteers.
