Who We Are

The University Retirees Volunteer Center was established in 1997 as a unit within the University of Minnesota to provide services to University units as well as non-profit agencies in the community. URVC is administered by volunteer retirees of the University and its volunteer membership is open to the entire community.

What We Do

The volunteer opportunities are diverse in order to meet the many community and University needs as well as the varied interests of its members as determined by a Volunteer Profile. Campus projects include medical research participation, theater, music, & lecture ushering, conference registration, mock trial juries, and English conversation tutoring for international students. Community projects include tutoring for all levels and subjects, judging student contests, providing services for Red Cross, 2nd Harvest Heartland, hospitals, museums, food shelves, state services for the blind, etc.
