Project for Pride in Living, Inc. - PPL

Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people with lower incomes to become self-reliant. Our mission: PPL builds the hope, assets, and self-reliance of individuals and families who have lower incomes by providing transformative affordable housing and employment readiness services. Building on our roots as an affordable housing developer, we now serve nearly 15,000 each year.

Over our 45-year history, we have delivered high quality housing, on-site resident services, and life-changing employment readiness programs for people most at risk. We build on people's capacity to approach life with self-determination and strength, helping them increase self-reliance by accessing resources, building skills, maintaining a stable home, and becoming their own best advocates.  

PPL offers a broad range of integrated services which help participants build more stable lives in two key program areas:

Affordable housing with services

• Provide stable, high quality housing for people with low incomes.
• Give children the academic and social-emotional tools they need to thrive.
• Help families gain the stability and network needed to achieve self-reliance.
• Provide a robust set of tools and resources to increase adults’ economic vitality.

Employment readiness services

• Help jobseekers prepare for and enter the workforce in high-growth job sectors.
• Increase equity through innovative training opportunities and effective employer partnerships.
• Provide youth at risk with top-notch alternative education options.
