Who We Are
Neighbors was started by volunteers in 1972 in response to an unemployment crisis and increasing numbers of individuals in the community who were in need. Today, volunteers remain at the heart of the organization, providing our core services. Neighbors could not exist without them.
As our mission states, "Neighbors helping neighbors build stability to increase opportunity and well-being."
What We Do
Neighbors, Inc. is a social services nonprofit. Our programs include an emergency food shelf, a thrift store that is both open to the public and a resource to clients who need clothing or household items, and the Financial Empowerment Center, which gives people the tools and builds a base to allow people to have financial independence.
