Who We Are
We are a floating museum! The steamboat (with a triple expansion engine) was built in 1906 to complement the Twin City Streetcars. One of six identical boats, she was sunk in Lake Minnetonka in 1926. She remained on the bottom until 1980. The Minnehaha was completely restored and resumed taking passengers across the Lake in 1996. The Museum staff are 100% volunteers. The crew gives historical narration during the various cruises.
What We Do
Pursers, Engineers and Captains to work on the Historic Steamboat, Minnehaha, on Lake Minnetonka during the summer season. Winter opportunities in the barn preparing the steamboat for its next season. Other opportunities: Assist with Marketing. Work in booth at special events on Lake Minnetonka.
