Who We Are
Longfellow/Seward Healthy Seniors is a non-profit, community-based organization serving older adults in the greater Longfellow and Seward neighborhoods of Minneapolis. Our mission is to enable community seniors to live healthy, independent and socially connected lives. We're a member program of the Living at Home Network, which is a group of community programs throughout Minnesota that helps seniors live independently. Volunteers are a key element of our ability to enhance the lives of elders in our community.
Volunteer opportunities include:
- Friendly visits and phone calls to isolated neighborhood seniors
- Basic technology assistance for older adults
- Help with grocery shopping
- Food shelf pickup and delivery
- Assistance with simple household chores and yard work
- Transportation to medical appointments
- Help with art classes, fitness classes, and health talks for older adults
Don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested in any of these opportunities!
