Who We Are
For InnerCity Tennis (ICT) Board, staff and volunteers, it is all about the children. The center of our universe is creating the opportunity for children and youth to manifest their greatest potential – on and off court. With staff, teaching professionals and dozens of invaluable volunteers, we collaborate to give each child a pathway toward accomplishment, whether that be with a tennis stroke, learning geometry via the court, developing a unique literary voice through the annual Arthur Ashe Essay Contest or finding fulfillment through service learning with younger children at our Super Saturday program.
What We Do
We need passionate volunteers who love kids and youth! InnerCity Tennis impacts over 4,000 kids using tennis and sports as a vehicle to deliver confidence, social emotional-character assets (respect, responsibility, perseverance, integrity, service, teamwork, enthusiasm), and education within the Twin cities. We operate at Minneapolis Public Schools, Minneapolis Public Parks, at our Facility (Reed Sweat Family Tennis Center), and other community partners. We have a place for everyone and anyone who can help. Our operations are Monday-Saturday and you do not have to be a tennis player or know anything about tennis to volunteer. Background checks are required. GROUPS: Size to 30, both adults and youth, minimum age of 3.
