The Friends of South High Foundation was founded in 1983 by a small group of South educators who decided to do something important for the students whose educations they had devoted their careers to. Now, more than 40 years later, South High Foundation is one of the oldest high school foundations in the country. Our assets have grown from an initial pool of about $75 for postage to over $3 million in endowed assets that are designated for scholarship awards and programmatic support at the school, and each year the foundation awards around $500,000 in grants and scholarships that advance, enrich, and enhance the experiences of the students we serve.
