Mpls Downtown Improvement District/Minneapolis Downtown Council

Who We Are

The mpls downtown council (mdc) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating an extraordinary downtown by driving economic vitality, enhancing public spaces, and fostering a strong and inclusive community. The Mpls Downtown Improvement District (DID) focuses on making downtown a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant place for all through public space activation, safety initiatives, and enhanced maintenance services. Together, mdc and DID work to ensure downtown Minneapolis remains a thriving place to live, work, visit, and explore.

What We Do

The mpls downtown council (mdc) and Mpls Downtown Improvement District (DID) program volunteer opportunities for downtown residents and workers to get involved in their community. We are building out environmental volunteering programs like trash cleanups, Adopt a Rain Garden, Adopt a Tree, and We Are Water.
