The Power of People Leadership Institute

Dr. Verna Cornelia Price and Brother Shane Price founded The Power of People Leadership Institute in 2005 to answer the call of their community. Since then, POPLI has served over 11,000 people through a lens of honoring the cultural heritage and wisdom in the community through their three programs, Girls Taking Action, Boys of Hope and Re-Planting.

The Power of People Leadership Institute is committed to engaging youth and adults in interactive learning experiences through mentoring and curriculum that challenges, inspires and informs them. These experiences help them overcome their obstacles and find success in every area of life through personal power, personal development and leadership training.

Engaging, empowering, mentoring and training youth and adults to positively transform their lives through our three programs: Boys of Hope (BOH), Girls Taking Action (GTA), and Re-Planting. The two youth programs, GTA and BOH, work with students in grades 7-12 in the Twin Cities and St. Cloud public schools. Our Re-Planting program works with justice-impacted adults to give them the skills and resources (housing, employment, transportation) necessary to transform their lives for the better. Our approach challenges, inspires and informs individuals, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve success in all areas of life through personal power, personal development, and leadership training.
